Formula recall guide
Baby Formula Recall Checker
A recall usually applies to specific packages, not every container with the same product name.
Find the lot code and date printed on your package, then compare the formula type, package size, and UPC with the official notice.

Find these details first
Find the code and date printed on your package
Check the bottom and lid first. If the code is not there, look along the side or seam, near the cap, and on the outer carton.
Production details
- Lot or batch code
- Copy the code exactly, including every letter and number.
- Printed date
- Record the complete best-by, use-by, or expiration date.
Package details
- Formula and format
- Match the complete product name and whether it is powder, liquid concentrate, or ready-to-feed.
- Package size and UPC
- Match the weight or volume and the UPC beside the barcode. The UPC does not replace the lot code.
Hard to read?
Try bright, angled light and take a clear photo. Check every container in a multipack because the lot codes can differ.

Check your package
Compare the details in this order
- 1
Match the formula
Confirm the complete product name and whether it is powder, liquid concentrate, or ready-to-feed.
- 2
Match the package
Compare the weight or volume, package count, and UPC with the official notice.
- 3
Match the production run
Compare the lot or batch code and printed date exactly. These details often decide whether your package is included.
A matching UPC is not enough when the notice also lists specific lot codes or dates.
If your package may be recalled
Keep what you need, then follow the official instructions
Package and records
Keep the package and receipt
Keep the container, carton, and purchase record until you know whether the formula is affected and have completed the recall remedy.
- A receipt or order email can confirm the purchase, but usually not the lot code.
- Do not assume a package is safe because it looks or smells normal.
Action and health guidance
If your package matches the recall
Follow the stop-use, refund or replacement, and health instructions in the official recall notice.
- 1If your baby consumed the formula, read the notice for symptoms and medical guidance.
- 2Contact your baby's healthcare provider if you have health concerns. Call emergency services for an emergency.
Baby Recall Tracker
Get alerts for possible formula recall matches
Baby Recall Tracker can alert you to possible matches involving saved formula. A barcode scan or purchase imported from Gmail or Outlook may identify the formula, but it usually does not include the package's lot code. Confirm every possible match with the official recall notice.
What you can save
- Product name, format, and package size
- UPC and photos you add
- Possible recall matches to review
You still need the package's lot code and date to confirm a lot-specific recall.
