The red knobs can detach from the busy board. Because the toy is intended for children under three years old, the detachable knobs violate the small parts ban and pose a deadly choking hazard. No incidents or injuries were reported.

The recalled Esjay busy board is made of blue felt and has carrying handles, elastic cords, and button closures. Cartoon dinosaurs appear on the front. The back has 26 alphabet squares, each containing a letter and cartoon animal. The board has five pages, and the page with red knobs is the second page.

About 276,000 busy boards were sold online at Amazon.com from March 2023 through July 2026 for between $18 and $30. Shenzhen Yishijie Technology Co., Ltd., doing business as Esjay US, manufactured the toys in China.
