Joyin Expands Sloosh Dive Sticks Recall Over Impalement Hazard
Joyin has expanded its recall of Sloosh dive sticks in models 40041, 40003 and 16154. The sticks exceed the federal compress limit, posing an impalement hazard to children.

- The recalled Sloosh dive sticks are models 40041, 40003 and 16154.
- Children may suffer serious piercing, facial or eye injuries.
- The affected cutoff is before October 23, 2025, for model 40041 and before December 31, 2025, for models 40003 and 16154.
- No incidents or injuries have been reported.
Why the dive sticks were recalled
The recalled sticks violate the federal dive sticks ban because they exceed the compress limit. In shallow water, children may fall or land on a stick, resulting in serious piercing injuries. Facial and eye injuries are also possible when children try to retrieve the sticks underwater.
How to identify the affected products
Models 40041 and 40003 are packaged with other Sloosh water toys. Model 40041 has a 30-piece package containing five dive sticks, while model 40003 has an 18-piece package containing four dive sticks. Model 16154 is an eight-stick set with no additional pieces. The sticks come in various colors and are hard-plastic cylinders measuring approximately seven inches long and one inch or less in diameter.
Where to find the model number
For models 40041 and 40003, the model number is printed on the back of the box next to the barcode and on top of one end of the dive stick. For model 16154, it is printed on the polybag above the barcode and on top of one end of the stick. Joyin’s name and tracking information also appear on the end of the sticks.
