MedPride Baby Oil Recall
Shield Line has recalled about 8,420 MedPride Baby Oil bottles because their packaging is not child-resistant. Young children could be seriously or fatally harmed if they swallow the oil.

How to identify the recalled baby oil
The recall covers MedPride Baby Oil in a clear bottle with a pink cap and white-and-pink front and back labels. The front bears the MedPride logo and includes “Baby Oil” in pink lettering, plus “Helps smooth, soften & moisturize skin” and “Hypoallergenic” in blue lettering. The back contains directions, warnings, and manufacturer information in blue.
Why the bottles were recalled
The baby oil contains low-viscosity hydrocarbons, which must be packaged in child-resistant containers. Because these bottles are not child-resistant, their contents pose a risk of serious injury or illness from poisoning if swallowed by a young child. Petroleum distillates can also enter the lungs and cause chemical pneumonia or pulmonary damage, which can be fatal.
Where and when the product was sold
The bottles were sold from November 2025 through March 2026 for about $8. Retailers included various discount and medical supply stores, primarily in the New York tri-state area, including 1$ Zone and Yong Tai Discount. They were also sold online at Amazon.com by HL Medical. The product was manufactured in India and distributed by Shield Line LLC of Branchburg, New Jersey.
