Which fruit puree pouches are recalled?
The company announcement posted by the FDA identifies select Pumpkin Tree Peter Rabbit Organics Banana & Strawberry fruit puree pouches in the 4 oz. (113 g) size. The affected codes are stamped in black ink on the back of the pouch. A recalled pouch must have barcode 8 15367 01078 0, lane number 4 on the rear right-hand side seam and an affected best-before date.
Why the pouches were recalled
PT Organics Limited said an internal packaging defect may result in a strand of soft, food-grade plastic in the finished product. The company initiated the recall after its packaging supplier recalled a production run of defective pouches. Inspections confirmed a plastic strand attached inside a small number of pouches. No injuries have been reported.
Where and when the product was sold
The recalled pouches were sold exclusively through Kroger, Meijer and Target retail stores nationwide between March 6 and July 13, 2026. The announcement states that no other Pumpkin Tree branded products, flavors or best-before dates are affected.
What consumers and caregivers should do
Check the pouch against all three identifying elements: the barcode, lane number and best-before date. Do not eat recalled product or feed it to another person. PT Organics Limited says consumers and caregivers should dispose of it or return it to the place of purchase. Questions may be directed to the company’s Consumer Support Desk at 888-566-2363, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET.
