ZMC Group Expands Light-Up Children’s Toys Recall Over Accessible Batteries
ZMC Group has expanded its recall of battery-operated light-up toys because children can easily access the button cell batteries, creating an ingestion hazard. The CPSC says about 245,124 toys are now included.
What matters now
- Children can easily access the toys’ button cell batteries.
- Swallowed button cell or coin batteries can cause internal chemical burns, other serious injuries and death.
- The recall includes five products identified by item numbers SS041-M, G02-UN, PS270, PS271 and 777-1.
- No incidents or injuries were reported.
- Consumers should stop using recalled toys immediately and contact ZMC Group for a full refund.
Which toys are included
The recall expansion covers five ZMC Group battery-operated products: the 19.4-inch Mexican Flag Theme Light Up Stick, item SS041-M; Light-Up Unicorn Headband, item G02-UN; Light-Up Assorted Colors Jelly Rings, item PS270; Light-Up Transparent Jelly Rings, item PS271; and Light-Up Heart Balloon Flower, item 777-1. Packaging has a label showing the item number, distributor identification, place of manufacture, production date and batch number.
